They could take advantage of Trump’s challenge to the global trading system and revive the proposal for an international trade organisation that is more efficient,  more advanced and more equitable.During the late 1990s, a small group of developing countries, led by India, Pakistan, Egypt and Cuba, organised a concerted resistance to the Western juggernaut in the WTO.US President Donald Trump’s unilateral tariffs on steel and aluminium imports threaten to unleash a trade war with America’s friends and foes. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Gatt was transformed into the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the Washington Consensus was imposed with a vengeance. As Deng Tsiao Ping remarked at the outset of China’s rise: "Development is the only truth. The system was unfair at multiple levels. The US Congress withdrew support because the protections provided to American corporations against "expropriation" of investments were not considered strong enough.

Textile trade was restricted by small import and export quotas.Emerging from the Second World War as the dominant economic power, the US propagated the thesis that "nations can advance only by eliminating barriers to the free movement of goods and capital and by minimising the role of government in the economy". It became the driving force for globalisation.Of the three institutions proposed by British economist Lord Keynes for the reconstruction of the world economy after the Second World War, the IMF and the World Bank were created at Bretton Woods. After its entry into the WTO, China took advantage of the WTO’s "free-trade" regime China Fuel filter OEM Factory to beat the industrialised countries at their own game, emerging as the world’s manufacturing hub and accumulating huge trade surpluses and reserves. Almost all the tools used by the industrial world to "climb the ladder" of industrial development were "kicked away" under the WTO agreement.Thereafter, the world trading system developed unequally. Losing the game in the WTO, the developed countries have moved to pursue plurilateral and bilateral "free-trade" agreements. They blocked one-sided decisions at the WTO’s Singapore and Seattle ministerial meetings and were successful in inserting a modest "development agenda" in the 2000 Doha Ministerial Declaration, which changed the nature and dynamics of global trade. Tariffs on other goods were lowered uniformly despite the inherent economic disparity between nations. Europe’s revival was fostered by US aid and trade under the Marshall Plan. Agriculture was excluded from free-trade principles; the US and EU maintained their agricultural subsidies, while the developing countries were not allowed to do so."By arrangement with Dawn.

Although Trump ignorantly denounced the TPP, he may rejoin if the 11 "partners", who have revived it, accommodate his demands, which appears likely.Similarly, the trade tensions with US allies generated by Trump’s steel and aluminium tariffs are likely to be resolved through cosmetic concessions. The interests of the developing countries would be best served if they are able to act collectively. Other countries were asked to adhere to the "free-trade" principles of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (Gatt).  Today, the developing countries possess the collective economic and political power to construct a trading system that serves development. However, history indicates a contrary conclusion: that industrial development has been achieved almost always behind the walls of state protection and intervention. The much-advertised 12-member Trans Pacific Partnership, apart from seeking to exclude China, sought to introduce new "standards" favouring the industrialised countries. The third, the International Trade Organisation, endorsed in the 1946 Havana Charter, was stillborn. Japan, Korea and Taiwan industrialised behind protective barriers and because of the "one-way" access offered them to the US market, capital and technology. The focus of future trade friction will be China. The move may appease Trump’s "rust belt" constituency but is unlikely to end America’s trade deficits or bring back manufacturing jobs. If we don’t develop, we will be bullied. Besides goods, free-trade principles encompassed services, finance, intellectual property and industrial policy. Simultaneously, the US and the European Union endured their worst financial and economic crisis since the 1929 Great Depression.

India will further raise barriers on import of metals as investigations are going on to impose anti-dumping duty on steel and safeguard duty on aluminium.Despite promises agai-nst resorting to protectionist measures, almost all countries are reacting to slow growth by trying to protect their domestic industries by raising trade barriers. India has already imp-osed minimum import price (MIP) on 173 steel products and imposed safeguard import taxes on some steel products until 2018..On the negative side, however, there are many steel user industries that are against imposing duties on steel as it impacts their cost of production. During the height of financial crisis, the G20 nations had pledged to refrain from erecting any new trade barriers. While MIP is till August, there is demand to replace MIP with anti-dumping duty as it will be difficult to challenge at WTO.

The domestic steel industry has been claiming that its margins are under-pressure due to cheap imports from China, as well as Russia, Japan and South Korea. The government is also looking at imposing saf-eguard duty on imports of aluminium due to heavy imports from China and West Asia. The Indian industry has been demanding the government to start investigations to impose safeguard duty on the import of copper also.Auto industry Aluminium Cold extrusion Suppliers SIAM director-general Vishnu Mathur indicated that though imposition of anti-dumping duty on steel will increase cost of production for the sector, they will not have a problem if investigations found that it was been dumped in India to harm local industry.

Currently, this development is in the phase of being approved by different European regulatory agencies to guarantee that the skin that is produced is adequate for use in transplants on burn patients and those with other skin problems.A team of Charles III University of Madrid researchers has demonstrated, for the first time, that, using the new 3D printing technology, it is possible to produce proper human skin. The process for producing these tissues can be carried out in two ways: to produce allogeneic skin, from a stock of cells, done on a large scale, for industrial processes; and to create autologous skin, which is made case by case from the patients own cells, for therapeutic use, such as in the treatment of severe burns. One of the authors, Jose Luis Jorcano pointed out that this skin "can be transplanted to patients or used in business settings to test chemical products, cosmetics or pharmaceutical products in quantities and with timetables and prices that are compatible with these uses."This new human skin is one of the first living human organs created using bioprinting to be introduced to the marketplace. When creating skin, instead of cartridges and coloured inks, injectors with biological components are used. "This method of bioprinting allows skin to be generated in a standardized, automated way, and the process is less expensive than manual production," said Alfredo Brisac, CEO of BioDan Group, the Spanish bioengineering firm specializing in regenerative medicine that is collaborating on this research and commercializing this technology. There are several advantages to this new technology. The study is Fuel filter Manufacturers published in the journal Biofabrication.

This last layer consists of fibroblasts that produce collagen, the protein that gives elasticity and mechanical strength to the skin. "We use only human cells and components to produce skin that is bioactive and can generate its own human collagen, thereby avoiding the use of the animal collagen that is found in other methods," they note.Bioinks are key to 3D bioprinting, according to the experts.A newly-developed method for using a modified printer that covers wounds with healthy skin cells can make the traditional burn treatment a history. It replicates the natural structure of the skin, with a first external layer, the epidermis with its stratum corneum, which acts as protection against the external environment, together with another thicker, deeper layer, the dermis.. And that is not the end of the story, because they are also researching ways to print other human tissues. In the words of researcher Juan Francisco del Cañizo, "Knowing how to mix the biological components, in what conditions to work with them so that the cells dont deteriorate, and how to correctly deposit the product is critical to the system." The act of depositing these bioinks, which are patented by CIEMAT and licensed by the BioDan Group, is controlled by a computer, which deposits them on a print bed in an orderly manner to then produce the skin. In addition, these tissues can be used to test pharmaceutical products, as well as cosmetics and consumer chemical products where current regulations require testing that does not use animals.

It will provide modules with integration of components to cover digital, RF, connectivity and front-end functionality. Their diverse range of Snapdragon chipsets caters to smartphones across various price points. However, Qualcomm says that they will be able to make it reach customers by the second half of 2018.(source).Qualcomm’s mobile chipsets are known to be the best in business. You have the Snapdragon 400 series for budget smartphones, the Snapdragon 600 series for midrange smartphones and the 800 series for flagship smartphones. The 700 series chipsets will also feature Quick Charge 4+ technology for topping up batteries from 0-50 per cent in 15 minutes. The Snapdragon 700 will primarily borrow the Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence Engine and the Spectra ISP from the flagship 845 SoC, and mix it with slightly upgraded internals from the 600 series to offer better value for premium midrange smartphones.

Key components include application processor, baseband modem, memory, power management integrated circuit (PMIC), RF Front-End (RFFE), antennas and passive components, providing optimized solutions engineered to make it easy for OEMs to be quickly up and running with lower cost and time investment. There are no OEM partners mentioned for the 700 series yet, but expect renowned names such as ASUS, Xiaomi, Motorola and Sony to come with suitable devices in the coming months. Qualcomm says that the 700 chipsets will get a new version of Kryo CPUs that will focus on enhanced performance when compared to the Snapdragon 660. Qualcomm says that end users will benefit with lower device costs with their new platform. However, the midrange smartphone segment is pretty diverse and the Snapdragon 600 series isn’t adequate for some premium midrange smartphones. Therefore, Qualcomm has filled the gap with its new Snapdragon 700 series that promises to bring exclusive premium features from 800 series to the affordable offerings. The 700 series is meant for those who care about artificial intelligence and notable smartphone photography — perfect for most manufacturers who care to build specific function-focused devices.Currently, the 700 series contains no specific chipset commercially available for use.
